Dr. Kowalchuk has been at Rochester Radiology for over a decade and is a recognized expert in the field of musculoskeletal imaging. After dedicating his undergraduate and graduate work in biomedical engineering and then finishing his PhD on osteoporotic bone, Dr. Kowalchuk graduated medical school from the University of Pennsylvania, where he also stayed on for his diagnostic radiology residency and musculoskeletal imaging fellowship at the prestigious Hospital of University of Pennsylvania. A distinguished administrator, Dr. Kowalchuk was previously the Chairman of Radiology at Newark Hospital and the Associate Chief at RGH prior to his current roles served as the director for MRI at RDI and chief of musculoskeletal imaging. He has been awarded the ‘Attending Teacher of the Year’ in 2001 and has always been known as an excellent mentor to the residents.
